Most trades grow on word of mouth and a strong Google rating, then lose the customers it sends to a slow site with a number they can't tap. We build trade websites that load fast on a phone, put the call one tap away, and turn a few photos into a quote.
MH Tiling. The specialist work first, and a quote from a few photos.

Customers find you on a phone. Most trade sites make them wait, then make them copy the number out.
In October 2026 we tested 30 Exeter trades websites: plumbers, electricians, roofers, builders, landscapers and cleaners. On a mid-range phone, 23 of the 27 that worked took more than four seconds to show their main content, and 7 of the 26 homepages we could read had no tap-to-call number.
Most of those businesses had earned strong Google reviews. Their websites were losing the customers the reviews sent them.
The slow site and the one-tap site
01 / 04
They search on their phone.
Usually mid-problem and in a hurry. “Emergency plumber Exeter”, “roofer near me”: directories and lead sites sit above you, and they tap whoever looks ready first.
02 / 04
A slow site loses the job.
The typical trades site we tested took 9.7 seconds to show its main content on a phone. Then the number is plain text they have to copy out by hand. Plenty won’t. They go back and tap the next one.
03 / 04
Answer in one tap.
Your number one tap away on every page, your reviews and the areas you cover on the first screen, and pages built to load fast on a phone signal, not just on office wifi.
04 / 04
The job arrives ready to price.
The job, the postcode and a few photos, straight to your phone, so you can quote from the van. And with a page for each service and town you cover, more of those searches find you first.

What we build
Six things a trade website needs that most do not have.
01
The call one tap away, on every page
For a trade, the phone call is the sale. Your number sits at the top of every page as a tap-to-call link, with WhatsApp beside it if that is how you work, so nobody has to copy digits out on a small screen.
02
Fast on a phone signal, not just on wifi
Every build is tested on a throttled mobile connection, the way Google tests it. Photos of your work are resized and compressed so they look sharp and load quickly, because the person with water through the ceiling will not wait ten seconds.
03
Quotes from a few photos
A short form asks for the job, the postcode and a few photos, or opens WhatsApp with the message already written. You get enough to price it from the van, and the first call starts informed.
04
Your reviews where they win the job
You have earned a strong Google rating. It belongs on the first screen, next to your accreditations, insurance and the areas you cover, not buried on a testimonials page nobody opens.
05
A page for each service and town you cover
People search for the job and the place: “bathroom fitter Exmouth”, “roofer Crediton”. One page called Services cannot rank for all of them. Separate pages for what you do and where you do it can.
06
Google told who you are
Your Google Business Profile set up and linked properly, a clear page title, and the business details search engines and AI assistants read. Invisible to customers, very visible to Google.
Three trades. All live.
Real businesses, real sites. Open any of them on your phone and check the work against everything this page claims.

Dynamic SW Cleaning
They had a new name and a logo. Charged added the colour and type system, the voice and a site that leads with commercial contracts, replacing a one-page AI-written brochure. It keeps evolving as the business grows.
A new name and a bigger site for an Exeter construction and home improvements firm. Gold Recruitment became Gold Works, and the website grew from one page to six.
An Exeter tiler working across Devon, and one of the few fitting slabs up to 2.8 metres. The specialist work goes first, each showcase job gets its own page, and a quote starts with a few photos.
“Charlie has been very helpful so far with creating our new website. He has been making ongoing improvements based on our feedback, which is much appreciated.”

Up to 5 pages, designed and built
SEO basics and your Google Business Profile set up
Direct technical support
Content updates and extra pages are quoted separately.
Larger websites, integrations and projects combining website work with SEO, software or branding are scoped individually. These starting points are not a ceiling. We agree the work, priorities and price with you before anything starts.
When you start paying
The first monthly payment is taken when work starts. Monthly plans have a 6 month minimum, and your proposal sets out the scope, price and live date before you commit.
Prefer to pay upfront?
Every plan can be paid for upfront instead, at the price under its monthly figure. The site is then yours, with a care plan to keep it hosted and maintained.
Hosting and care from £60 / month
Required for upfront builds and only available for sites we build. Covers hosting, security, backups and technical maintenance, with content changes quoted separately. Already included in monthly plans.
Tell us what your website needs to do. We’ll work out the right scope together.
Yes. Dynamic SW Cleaning (commercial cleaner), Gold Works (construction firm), MH Tiling (specialist tiler). Every one is live, so you can open them on your phone and judge the work for yourself, and each has a case study on this site.
How much does a website for a tradesman cost?+
A Launch site of up to five pages starts from £1,500 up front plus a care plan from £60 a month, or from £197 a month with nothing up front and hosting included. A Business site, with a page for each service and area and updates every month, starts from £3,500 up front or £447 a month. Your quote is tailored after a short call, within two working days, and there is no VAT to add.
I get most of my work from word of mouth. Do I need a website?+
Word of mouth still ends in a search. Someone is given your name, looks you up, and judges you on what they find, usually on a phone. A slow site or one with no clear way to call can lose a job that was already yours. If you are fully booked and happy, you may not need much, and we will tell you so.
I already pay for Checkatrade or MyBuilder. Is a website worth it on top?+
Keep them if they bring you work. The difference is that your own site is the one place you own: no lead fees, no competitors listed beside you, and your reviews and work on your terms. We link to your profiles from it, so the reviews you have earned there still count.
I'm on jobs all day. Who keeps it up to date?+
On the Business plan, we do: each month we agree a batch of updates, so you send photos of finished jobs and we turn them into new work on the site. On Launch, the site is built to need very little, and updates are quoted when you want them.
How long does it take?+
Typically two to four weeks, and inside a week if there is a genuine deadline. What usually decides it is how quickly photos, details and sign-off come back from your side, and we know you are busy, so we keep that part short.
Do you only work with trades in Exeter?+
No. We are based in Exeter and work with trades across Devon, from Plymouth to Barnstaple, and further afield when the fit is right. We are happy to meet in person in Devon, and the rest works on calls.
Ready to grow your business?
Tell us what you need and you'll hear back within two working days. If you'd rather talk it through first, book a call.
