Branding & Creative

Look like the obvious choice before anyone reads a word.

People decide whether you look serious before they read a sentence. Branding work is about closing the gap between the quality of the work you do and what a stranger assumes about it. It usually lands as part of a website project, which is normally the right way round.

One consistent business, everywhere someone sees you.

Documents that look like they came from the same place as the site.

The problem

Sound familiar?

Firms who do serious work and don't look like it. It usually looks like this:

A logo made in Word fifteen years ago that nobody has the original file for.

Four different shades of the same blue across your materials.

Documents that look nothing like the website they came from.

A brand that has quietly started holding everything else back.

What we do

Identity, tone of voice and templates that hold together.

Logo and identity

Logo, palette, typography, and the rules for using them, so the brand still looks right in six months when somebody else makes a poster.

Tone of voice

How the business sounds in writing: on the site, in emails, in proposals. So it reads like one business rather than whoever happened to be typing.

Templates and documents

Proposals, quotes, letterheads, presentations. Branded properly, so every document that leaves the business looks like the same business.

Brand in use

Social graphics, ad creative and the visual assets that keep the brand alive after the identity is delivered. This runs as an ongoing monthly allowance rather than a one-off.

How we work

Research, strategy, build, optimise.

Research

We start with your business, your customers and who you are actually competing against, before anyone opens a design tool.

Strategy

You get the scope, the page list and the plan in writing, agreed before the work starts, so nothing gets discovered halfway through.

Build

Built in code on modern infrastructure, mobile first, with the technical foundations done properly at build time rather than retrofitted.

Optimise

Live is the start, not the finish. It gets measured, maintained and improved every month instead of slowly rotting.

The honest bit

Do you actually need this yet?

Often, no. Here is the honest version:

If the site is the problem, fix the site. Brand work on top of a site nobody visits does not do anything.

Brand work is worth doing when what you look like is actively costing you credibility with the clients you actually want.

Print production and management is not included. We design it, you print it, or we point you at someone good.

Naming and full brand strategy are not standalone products here, unless scoped specifically.

Afterwards

It's a plan, not a project.

Most of what we do is ongoing. Rather than picking a package off a shelf, we put a retainer together around your business: the site hosted, monitored and improved every month, and the search, content and creative work carrying on instead of stopping the day you go live.

You pay for what you actually need, and nothing you don't. There's a minimum term, because we fund real work up front, and it's stated clearly before you sign. Nothing about leaving is designed to be difficult.

You own your business, not a hostage situation.

Your domain, your content, your code, your accounts, from day one. If you ever leave, you take all of it with you.

Proof

Live builds, not mockups.

Why it matters

Looking inconsistent reads as being disorganised. It is unfair, and it is what happens: a prospect who sees four versions of your logo assumes four versions of your standards.

Getting it consistent is usually cheaper and faster than people expect, and it makes everything else you spend money on work harder.

Questions

Common questions

Do I need a full rebrand?

Usually not. Most of what makes a brand look scattered is inconsistency rather than a bad logo, and tightening the rules around what you already have gets you most of the way. If the identity genuinely is the problem we will say so.

Can this be part of a website project?

That is normally how it goes, and normally the right order. The site is the biggest single place the brand shows up, so building both together means they actually match rather than being reconciled afterwards.

What do I actually get at the end?

The identity itself, the rules for using it, and the templates your business sends out. Ongoing creative, the social graphics and ad work that keep it alive, runs separately as a monthly allowance rather than being bundled into the build.

Brand work almost always lands as part of a build.
